H-E-B Bakeshop, San Antonio, TX, has introduced a new bread called Glycemic Health, with a claim stating that it “helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels.” The new bread contains 5 grams of dietary fiber derived from National Starch’s Hi-maize, a resistant starch made from corn that has been subjected to numerous clinical studies.
